2016 WRX Vs. 2016 STi Comparison

WRX vs STI

The STi and WRX models are bound to be compared with each other. The fact that they share so many components alone, would make one wonder, what really is the difference between the two? Furthermore, one may consider modifying the WRX with aftermarket components to possibly save money and end up with something close or better than it’s big brother STi. Today, we will answer these, and all of your other questions about the WRX vs the STi.

New Features in 2016 for the WRX

The 2016 WRX comes with a slew of new features in 2016. New safety features such as new infotainment features, Subaru’s Eyesight safety system, driver assist technology, and lane keep assist which uses power steering to help keep the driver inside their lane. A rear vision camera is also standard on all trims of the 2016 WRX. But does the 2016 WRX bring enough to the table to be the better bargain against big brother STi? Let’s have a look at some comparison features in the table below:

Category WRX STi

In conclusion, both the 2016+ WRX and 2016+ STi are both great platforms. The STi has some great upgrades for the price difference, but also uses the same motor that they have used essentially since 2004 in the USA. The new WRX however is a brand new engine platform that is efficient and thus far proven. The STi BBS wheels and Brembo brakes are a great benefit, but if you plan on upgrading your wheels and brakes anyways it may be more beneficial to go with the WRX. It sure is a tough decision, as they are both great cars!
