Vehicle Spotlight – Ford Fiesta ST
To many Americans the Ford Fiesta may seem like a somewhat new model offered by Ford. This is likely due to the fact that the Ford Fiesta did not hit the states until 2009 which Ford labeled the “Fiesta Movement”. But the Fiesta is an old car with a relatively long history that dates back to 1976. With all of this history behind them, Ford released an “ST” model back in 2004 in Australia and Europe. This model focused on performance and rally racing. By 2013 the US got a taste of the ST (sixth generation). The ST in the states consists of a 5 door hatch and weighs in around 2700 pounds. In North American you can only get the ST in a 5 door hatch equipped with a 1.6 litre EcoBoost 4 cylinder engine and a 6 speed manual transmission.
February 2017 Ford announced the latest model will include a 200 PS 3-Cylinder 1.5L EcoBoost engine that utilizes a turbocharger. Ford again unveiled another feature in March of 2018 that a Quaife Limited-Slip Differential will be included as well. As you can probably figure out, the ST model is in fact focused on the enthusiast, especially in the Subaru Evo realm. The ST has made countless appearances in rally and circuit racing. Partly due to it’s success and it’s offerings, many enthusiasts choose the ST for their daily driver and or “racing” car. Over the last ~10 years manufacturers and wholesalers alike have been providing aftermarket performance solutions for everything Fiesta ST related. At ISC suspension we try to offer our coilovers for as many models as possible and the Fiesta is no different! If you are looking to upgrade your suspension/coilovers for your ST, give our Ford Fiesta suspension a once over!
